Mindfulness

8 week mindfulness based stress reduction course
Learn practical stress reduction strategies in 8 sessions of mindfulness, yoga and guided reflection. This course includes weekly 2.5 hour classes, supported by home practice guidelines and an exclusive full day immersive retreat.

​The course has shown clinically relevant reductions in medical and psychological symptoms across a wide range of medical diagnosis, including chronic pain conditions and anxiety or panic. it is suitable for anyone who wants to:
- Cope with stress
- Increase self compassion
- Manage difficult emotions and situations​

ONE DAY MINDFULNESS RETREAT
Even a holiday can be stressful. Treat yourself to a day to pause, breathe & heal.  Disconnect and immerse in self-care. Develop present moment awareness of your body, breath, thoughts​ &​ emotions and explore your current stress and mindfulness levels. Learn about your personal stress triggers & indicators, and explore tools that you​ ​can use to be less reactive and more responsive in stressful situations.

At the Changemaker Catalyst Lab, your learners, educators & volunteers will join other groups from higher and lower resourced schools around Johannesburg, to develop 21st century skills and lead community change by using the 4 Design Thinking steps: 
Feel - identify issues they wish to address in their local community
Imagine - brainstorm solutions
Do - design action plans and take action 
Share - write & publish stories of change on the international I CAN School Challenge digital platform and articles on the WeCan24 platform.


You can volunteer at any of the upcoming Labs on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month.
