Be The Change 2021: A virtual gathering of children leading change!

eduSOIL has been working with the incredible Design For Change (DFC team) to empower children to be changemakers for the past 10 years! Watch the videos to find out why!! Every year the Design For Change (DFC) family https://www.dfcworld.org/ gathers together at the Be the Change (BTC) Celebration. Our last amazing virtual BTC gathering was hosted by DFC Singapore. Be inspired by the stories of change here!  This year the awesome DFC Brazil team is preparing another virtual gathering on 20th November, International Children’s Day.

​How can you empower changemakers to join BTC?

  1. Use the One Week Challenge Toolkit (for learners at school) OR the Do Good From Home Toolkit (for learners still learning from home) to enable a group of 3 - 5 learners to identify an issue affecting their lives, to ideate a solution, implement an action plan and share their story of change by making a short video. See example of previous stories from around the world here. https://stories.dfcworld.org/ You could also use our FIDS framework to share a change project that your learners/children have already implemented. As long as the project was child-led and adult-supported and you can use FIDS to tell the story, it will be considered for entry!
  2. Submit the story of change on the DFC Global platform - https://challenge.dfcworld.org/ by Sep 13th.
  3. Juanita Rea  (DFC Partner for South Africa and Sudan) will work with advisors at eduSOIL to select one student's project to represent South Africa and another team from Sudan at BTC 2021.
  4. During September there will be online meetings between students representatives from different countries to discuss their projects.
  5. The groups representing SA and Sudan (as well as other students, teachers and anyone who is interested ) can attend the online event on 20th Nov. ​
