This is a new post at eduSOIL CIC made possible with funding through ‘Art Work’; an Employment and Skills Initiative for the Arts Sector, supported by the Department of Communities through Future Screens NI.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead programming, communications and marketing of the various projects and services offered by eduSOIL CIC. The successful applicant will lead the initiation of our work in Northern Ireland/UK to launch and run local intercultural arts programmes that nurture the mental and emotional health of underserved people through Community Arts, Youth Leadership and Wellbeing programmes.
The eduSOIL CIC CEO will manage the overall operations of the organisation company, including:
The successful candidate will lead and oversee daily activities that enable underserved groups (primarily BAME in the UK) to access community arts, youth leadership and mental wellbeing programmes that facilitate collaborative, intercultural artistic expression and civic engagement. eduSOIL was founded in 2011 to nurture the mental and emotional health of underserved people through Community Arts, Youth Leadership and Wellbeing programmes. We have since worked with + 15,000 people in 11 countries through a South African non-profit organisation. www.edusoil.com/structuregovernance. eduSOIL CIC was incorporated in February 2022 to initiate and implement programmes in Northern Ireland and across the UK alongside international development programmes in South Africa, India, Sudan and the Philippines. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience of intercultural, international work in the community arts sector and should be a person from a underrepresented group (gender, ethnicity, nationality, age etc)

- communicating with people inside and outside the company to discover what policies, products, and marketing strategies will help it move forward.

1. Leading, executing and overseeing all operations and business activities ensuring they are consistent with our mission to provide intercultural community arts, youth leadership and mental wellbeing programmes empowering POC/BAME groups.
2. Initiating activities that nurture intercultural cohesion through dialogue, artistic collaboration and civic engagement that includes everyone who is affected by racism, sectarianism and intolerance.
3. Nurturing our global roots and partnerships to facilitate international collaboration in the arts.
4. Facilitating arts programmes that bring together ethnic majority and minority groups in NI through:

The CEO post is an essential role that needs to be fulfilled in order for eduSOIL CIC to have an opportunity to fulfil its mission. Fulfilling the responsibilities will empower the post-holder to apply global knowledge and experience in needed areas, to a local context. This is an exciting opportunity for the post-holder to develop as a leader in the arts sector in NI.
This would enable our newly incorporated UK organisation, to build on our eleven years of international work and provide employment, skills development and strategic mentorship, driving innovation in technologies; and creating new content, products, services and experiences with a particular emphasis on arts access and opportunities for underserved communities.
The eduSOIL CIC CEO Job will be a self-starter who:

- enabling international collaboration between youth in NI and in developing countries
- providing mindfulness based stress reduction courses, classes retreat days
- providing services that include social support, counselling, particularly for vulnerable groups

- Master's degree in a relevant discipline (education, arts)
- Continuous professional development in areas related to Child Protection, Adverse effects of trauma, Special Needs Education, Mindfulness, Yoga, Design Thinking
- Female from a global majority group ( asian, black) with first hand experience of conflict, trauma, racial prejudice and the ability to communicate about these challenges and facilitate programmes that support and inspire others to overcome these barriers in their own lives.
- Experience in an international leadership position. Big Picture Thinking, Detail Oriented with a track record of using technology to lead cross border collaborative projects.
- At least one year’s experience in a junior leadership role or demonstrable experience of running at least one successful international project (this can include something you did on a voluntary basis or as part of a student/university project)
- Strong Written Communication, Strong Verbal Communication, Listening Skills. Excellent proofreading, copywriting and editing skills. An articulate and confident communicator in person, in writing and on the phone.
- Experience of Word/ Pages PowerPoint/ Keynote, Excel/ Sheets, Weebly, Givengain. All Google For Nonprofit apps with excellent digital skills.
- Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
- Ability to build consensus and relationships among directors, advisors, partners, and the community partners
- Understanding of human resources and personnel management with experience of leading small teams
- Experience with corporate governance.
