About the programme
Empowering young people to address issues affecting their wellbeing through arts-based, youth-led, civic action at schools & centres
This June, eduSOIL / Design For Change NI is taking Art For Change to schools and community organisations who want to be part of the acclaimed Design For Change global movement, empowering +2 million young people to drive social action in +70 countries since 2010.
Limited Offer!! We have 10 subsidised slots available from June 1st to 30th for schools and centres in Belfast and Bangor.
We are empowering teachers and youth workers to foster Social & Emotional Learning, intercultural connections, & artivism with our Harvard University-endorsed framework that enables young people to address issues affecting their mental health through a chosen art media that they share publicly to drive social change.

Groups (young people & teacher/youth worker mentor) who submit an artpiece and their story of change by September 15th, stand a chance to represent NI at the global celebration, Be The Change, Athens, Greece, Nov 26th - 29th, where young changemakers from 25 + countries will present projects and share performances that showcase their country’s cultural heritage.
The programme also introduces participants to opportunities beyond Northern Ireland, including the global Be The Change Summit in Athens, Greece, where young people from over 30 countries will gather to share ideas and inspire change.
And closer to home, groups who complete and submit a project by July 7th, will be invited to display/ present their creation at our Art For Change Showcase, July 10th, 15:00 - 17:00 at Queen's University Belfast.

Schools/centres can book multi-awarded artist, Juanita Rea for one of the following onsite experiences:
  • whole school/grade/group assembly/presentation (up to 60 min)
  • pop-up Art For Change exhibition (variable)
  • teacher/youth worker workshop (up to 90 min)

  • enjoy learning about our globally recognised FIDS Framework — Feel, Imagine, Do, Share through our I CAN song and dance videos, and get a taste of how it is used to enable youth-led, civic action around the world since 2010.
  • discover a youth-led project from our 2023 - 2025 Art For Change cohorts to know how young people in NI have taken action to address important social and community issues through creativity, storytelling and collaboration
  • start to think about how they get involved further so the school /centre may be part of the global movement.
  • co-create an original art piece using the Feel, Imagine, Do, Share framework (only during student or teacher workshops and only for a selection of art media)
